Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Celestial Shichons. We offer truly home raised puppies who have been socialized with some world-class role models. they grow up with two Labradors from guide dogs for the blind, and Papa Astral is a therapy dog working with children in schools. These adult dogs model crucial social skills for our developing puppies.

We go the extra mile and keep our puppies for 10 weeks rather than the standard 8. We put in this extra month of hard work because puppies go through a major fear period between 8 and 10 weeks old. Anything that frightens a puppy during a fear period often develops into a lifelong phobia. It’s also important that puppies continue to play with their littermates so that they can learn something called “bite inhibition” . The number one complaint of new puppy owners is puppy lunging and biting. this is normal because puppies instinctively use their mouths to explore the world around them. If they’re taken away from there siblings too soon, they never learn that if they play too rough or bite too hard no one wants to play with them. We work very hard to, gently but firmly, teach our puppies that it’s not appropriate to use their mouths on humans or their clothing.

As you can imagine, this takes a great deal of focused effort to achieve. We have decades of dog training experience to make sure that your puppy is properly socialized, puppy pad trained, and has learned some basic obedience commands before we send them home with you.

Your puppy will come with a goodie bag filled with; a shot and worming record from our veterinarian, leash, collar, clicker, puppy pads, brush, enough food for a week, toy, and a blanket that smells like home. You’ll also get a thumb drive with all of your puppy’s pictures and videos.

If you’re looking for a well brought up shichon puppy, meet Star, our new mama dog. Her puppies are due on April 6th. Going home date is July 6th. We currently have two reservation spots available for this litter.

The total cost of a puppy is $2,500. There is a $500 deposit to hold your puppy. Payment is due before you pick up your puppy. If you want to be on our waiting list, please send an email telling us about your family, your lifestyle and what temperament of puppy you are looking for. Who lives at, or frequently visits, your home? Ages of children are important for us to know. Do you need a puppy who loves to travel? Do you want a feisty puppy who can run all day with the kids? Do you have anyone in your family with a disability who uses a cane, Walker, or wheelchair? Do you need a mellow puppy who’s content to hang out with you on the couch and watch Jeopardy? Anything you can tell us will help us to ensure that we match you with the perfect puppy for your family. Please note that we do not take reservations for a specific gender or appearance.

It’s very important to us that our puppies are matched based on their personalities. We know that a single person in their 70s needs a puppy that is quite different from a young family with two growing kids that are heavily involved in sports. A retired couple who loves to travel and wants to bring their dog on their adventures needs a different dog than a psychologist who wants a therapy dog to work with clients in her practice.

All puppies are moldable to a certain extent, but they are born with their own unique set of character traits. We spend many hours getting to know each pup as an individual so that we can guide families towards puppies that will fit together with their lifestyle.

We know that our methods work because in addition to many happy families, we have raised five therapy dogs and three service dogs. Because we produce quality puppies, our puppies have been shipped all over the United States and Canada.

Families have 4 options for getting their new puppies home;
1. You can come to our home in Tucson Az,
2. You can pay a pet transportation service to drive your puppy to your home,
3. You can fly to Tucson and we will meet you at the airport with your fur baby,
4. You can hire a “pet nanny” to fly your puppy to the airport closest to your home.

Shichons are considered “short nosed breads and can only fly with a passenger in the cabin. If your puppy is going on a plane flight, we will provide special training so they are used to riding in a special soft sided carrier. We can also introduce your puppy to our family cat, Mimi, if they will be sharing their new home with a kitty.

We know how difficult it is to find a quality Shichon puppy right now. They make wonderful companions, therapy dogs, and even service dogs. Finding a non puppy mill breeder who truly loves and home raises their babies is very difficult. You can view videos and pictures of our puppies, their parents, and Grandma Princess, on our Facebook page and Instagram page. Just look for Celestial Shichons and you’ll find us. You can also read reviews and testimonials from our happy puppy parents. If you have any other questions after visiting those sites, please email me and I’ll do my best to help you.

Sincerely,

Wendy Greene
